How It Works
Unlike the formal Sumpa Terminal, the mercado bus stop is more informal — buses (cooperativas) gather along the roads near the market, and ayudantes (helpers) call out their destination to attract passengers. It's loud, busy, and efficient once you understand the system.
Buy your ticket on the bus itself from the ayudante (assistant/fare collector). Prices are very cheap — most Peninsula trips cost under $1.00.
