Where to Ride
Punta Blanca is the primary destination for horseback riding on the peninsula. The beach is 3.7 km long, white-cliffed, and largely empty even in high season — low tide reveals a wide flat sand shelf ideal for riding. Local operators at Punta Blanca offer horses for hire, primarily for beach rides.
The outskirts of Santa Elena canton (rural parishes of Colonche and the interior) also have trails used by local riders, though these are not developed for tourism.
Operators
Informal operators at Punta Blanca hire out horses by the hour. Arrange at the beach — pricing is negotiable but typically $10–20/hour. Quality of horses and equipment varies; inspect before riding.
Getting There
Punta Blanca is approximately 30 km north of Salinas along the coastal road. Access by taxi from La Libertad (approximately $10–15 one way) or by bus toward Santa Elena / Colonche and ask to be let off at Punta Blanca.
