Where to Play

The Salinas malecón has permanent sand courts with nets, particularly in the central and San Lorenzo sections. Pickup games run most evenings during high season (December–May) and weekends year-round. The courts are free to use — show up and join a game.

Salinas has hosted Pan-American volleyball events and international tournaments, reflecting genuine sporting infrastructure beyond the casual pickup scene.

Tips

  • Best time: Late afternoon / early evening (5–7pm) when the heat drops
  • Pickup games: Standard open-court etiquette — challenge the winner or ask to sub in
  • Bring your own ball for early/late sessions when courts may be quiet
  • Other nets can sometimes be found on Ballenita beach
