The Mirador de La Caleta is a lookout in Barrio 10 de Agosto, La Libertad, with views over the beach, the malecón and the ships offshore. By tradition, Pizarro landed at La Caleta in 1531.
The bay was once marked by a natural rock arch, a symbol of the city, which has since been lost to erosion. Local legend tells of La Llorona de La Caleta.
