Wildlife

Herons and blue-footed boobies are regular visitors to Isla del Amor and Estero Palau. The estero has become home to green iguanas and heron chicks, and sea turtles nest here — a rare sight inside a city. University researchers from UPSE study the area.

Keep your distance from nests and never disturb turtles.

Did you know…?
🦴 …giant ground sloths as big as elephants once lived on the peninsula?
