🏺 Cerrito de Engoroy
A hill in La Libertad registered as archaeological heritage — and the name of an ancient coastal culture.

Cerrito de Engoroy (Cerro Engoroy) is a hill in La Libertad listed in the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC) register, and one of the canton's tourist sites. The name is shared with the Engoroy culture, one of the ancient seafaring peoples of this coast, honoured alongside Valdivia, Machalilla, Guangala and Manteña.

Good to know

Uncontrolled quarrying in the past cut into parts of the Engoroy area, leaving steep faces. Stay on paths and away from quarry edges.
