🏖️ Jambelí
A small fishing comuna with a 1.2 km beach between Monteverde and Palmar.

Jambelí is a small coastal comuna of Colonche parish on the Ruta del Spondylus, between Monteverde and Palmar. Not to be confused with the island of Jambelí in El Oro province.

At a glance
Parish Colonche, Santa Elena canton
Beach About 1.2 km
Water About 70% on Aguapen's piped network (2023)
Bus Any Ruta del Spondylus bus from Terminal Sumpa

What to expect

Jambelí is a working village rather than a resort: a quiet beach, fishing boats on the sand and little tourist infrastructure. It makes an easy stop between Monteverde's long beach and Palmar's mangrove.

Did you know…?
🤝 …the comunas own their land together and elect a council, the cabildo, every year?
